The city’s sports department along with Vilanova I la Geltrú Tri Club will be serving as hosts for the first time of 2009 Vilanova I la Geltrú International Duathlon.
Series / Qualification / Championship status:
- First classifying heat of Spanish National Duathlon Championships 2009
- Elite and age group championship
- Part of the Catalan duathlon series
Thanks to the Spanish Federation of Triathlon (FETRI) and the Catalan Triathlon Federation (FCT), this year we have built a fast and spectator friendly road closed circuit. Major efforts have been put by the organization to invite the best international and national duathlets to this worthwhile sport event.
We are happy to have the presence of elite competitors such as Jurgen Dereere (2008 European championship), Alessio Picco (Italian Championship), Víctor del Corral, Roger Roca, Josemi Pérez, Agustí Roc, etc. We are still working on that to make an even better event.

Refund of entries
As soon as you enter a race, we start to incur costs for that race. Because of this situation, we are unable to refund any race entry fees once accepted. Any further drop or resignation whatsoever shall be informed to the FETRI at competiciones@triatlon.org by 16:00 pm 10 February. No changes in pre-race lists of participants will be made after 10 February. Race packs including numbers will be given to all in-list entrants. If you do not collect your race pack on the collection days set, no further complains can be made to the FETRI or the Race director.ms and conditions of Entry
The date of pre-race entries selection will be approximately fifteen days before the event. All entry forms entered will be considered as pre-entry forms. Uncompleted race entries filled in will be disregarded. Should the number of entrants be below the limit, all race entries will be accepted automatically, and further entries will take precedence on account of the entry’s reception day exclusively.

Bike - 20 km (2 rounds)
1rst km urban track, then take road C246 off to Tarragona and turn around back to the end of Ribes Roges Avenue. 10 km total. Traffic access closed during the event guaranteed. See map.
